MS teachers are adept at recognizing the individual character of a student, offer various opportunities to develop it further, and are extremely supportive for a student pursuing his/her own dream.MS Parent
Our focus in the MS is to develop the skills and characteristics necessary for success in high school and beyond.
Academics Goals:
- develop academic mindsets - become lifelong learners
- engage in productive behaviors such as setting and meeting goals
- work collaboratively
- identify problems and create solutions
- respect differences among peers
- discover independence in thinking and action
- small, engaged learning communities
- increased metacognition (reflection)
- culturally and developmentally appropriate curriculum, emotionally meaningful
- provide exploratory electives and activities to help students discover interests and abilities
- provide core curriculum classes that integrate learning across disciplines (ex: science + LA collaboration)
