SIS Tigers have the hearts of champions!
At Seoul International School, we offer a robust athletics and activities program that competes in both the Korea American Interscholastic Athletics Conference (KAIAC) and Association of International Schools in Asia (AISA). Here at SIS, we have excellent facilities, fitness centers, multiple gyms, experienced and dedicated coaches that help to maximize the athlete’s performance. Most importantly, TIGERs values are embedded into the athletics and activities program here at SIS, and the students that choose to engage, join a team and balance this with the demanding academic environment graduate SIS demonstrating perseverance, responsibility, physical endurance, commitment, time management, and more collaborative members of a community.
Elementary School
In elementary school, students have numerous activities to choose from, ranging from Boosters taking place on Saturdays to after school enrichment that engage both the artistic as well as the athletic, culminating with a grade 4 and 5 athletic program that includes soccer, basketball, flag football, and swimming. These are open to all elementary students and are devoted to skill development and teamwork.
Middle School
In middle school, coaches remain committed to skill development and inclusivity in sport, practicing twice a week in sports that mirror the high school program. Practices and intramural competition takes place most weeks, with jamborees taking place a few times in the season with competition against other KAIAC schools. Middle School sports are open to all students in the middle school, but commitment is essential once signed up. The practice schedule for MS athletics is Tuesdays and Thursday with Jamborees on Saturdays. Many seasons culminate with a more selective traveling squad that competes at the end of season jamboree.
High School
High school students have the opportunity to compete in one of three seasons and have opportunities to play in a competitive program against other international schools in greater Seoul, as well as schools in Busan, Jeju, Japan, and China. Our HS athletics program allow students to have the opportunity to travel, compete, and grow as globally minded citizens using a balanced approach that aims to contribute to students' physical, social and emotional well-being. SIS has had much success over the years in both KAIAC and AISA as with championships in a multitude of sports, represented by the many banners hanging in the Tiger Gym. HS sports practice or have their games on Tuesday through Friday, with some tournaments and games on Saturdays.
